Ambassador invite Nepalese businessman to visit Bangladesh


Kathmandu, 31 August 2021: Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury met the office bearers of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) at their headquarters in Kathmandu today.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the President of CNI Mr. Vishnu Kumar Agarwal briefed about the works of the organization as apex body of manufacturing and service sector industry of Nepal in promoting economic and industrial development of the country. He was appreciative of the spectacular infrastructural development as well as the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), readymade garments, pharmaceuticals, ICT among other sectors in Bangladesh.

In his remarks, Ambassador Chowdhury briefed the CNI office bearers about the inclusive development approach of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina which propelled extraordinary economic as well as social development in Bangladesh in the last one decade. Policy interventions, particularly in areas of social development, women empowerment as well as emphasis on building infrastructure including special economic zones across the country had helped Bangladesh absorb the shocks of COVID-19, he added.

Ambassador Chowdhury invited the business community of Nepal to visit Bangladesh and explore avenues for increased engagement with the business community of the two countries for mutual benefit, particularly in areas of garments, IT, pharmaceuticals, energy, etc.

From CNI, all members of the governing body and from the Embassy DCM Ms. Ishrat Jahan and FS (Trade) Mr. Mohammad Alamgir Islam Khan were present.
